Releasing baby sea turtles into the ocean is one of the most unique and memorable experiences you can have near Huatulco.
Located in Escobilla, about an hour and a half from La Crucecita, this experience allows you to safely release newly hatched turtles while supporting local conservation efforts.

What to Expect
When you arrive at the eco-center, you’ll check in and go through a short preparation process before heading to the beach. A local guide will then accompany you to the beach.
If you are driving yourself, the guide will get into your vehicle and direct you down to the beach. Once there, someone will arrive by ATV with the baby turtles in a container. The turtles are very small — about the size of your palm.
You’ll gently place them on the sand and watch as they begin to make their way toward the ocean. The waves may push them back as they try to enter, so it can take a few minutes before they successfully reach the water.
During this time, you’ll be asked to keep a respectful distance so you don’t interfere with them.
